A Congregational Prayer, December 30, 2007
Offered by Amy Staples
Oh heavenly Father, we approach your throne this morning earnestly
seeking after you. We are knocking at your door, asking that You would
turn an ear toward us.
You have promised that those who seek you out will find you, and that
those who desire intimacy with You, will have it and so we ask that you
would draw us into your presence.
It is in these quiet moments that we find rest and peace and it is our
prayer that those who are grieving or struggling with life’s issues
would find comfort and solace in these still, precious moments.
We ask for continued healing for Ruth and for those who are recovering
from major surgeries or sicknesses. May you guide those who are
responsible for their care and bring renewed strength to those who are
sick.
We thank you for the students and youth in our church and for the energy
and vision they bring. Please strengthen them when they encounter peer
pressure and we pray that they would burn with a passion for our Lord.
Help them to be leaders in their schools and show them how to be lights
for You in a world of darkness.
We lift up Arlene and her family and we ask that you would surround them
with love. I pray that they would feel you close to them during this
time of sadness and grief. Hear these prayers Lord and also the unspoken
ones that rest within each one of us.
We thank you for your Son who makes a relationship with you possible and
we are eternally grateful for the beacon of hope He represents to our
world.
It is in your holy, merciful name that we pray, Amen.
