Congregational Prayer, February 3, 2008
Offered by Pastor Mary Scheer

Dear Lord,  Holy and timeless God.  It’s comforting to know that you are with us in all the times and places of our lives.

Sometimes our vision can become so narrow that we have a hard time seeing beyond a particular time, or we have a hard time letting go of a particular time, or we fear the times that lay ahead of us.  But then we remember that you were there when it was time for us to be born, you were with us when we were hurting, when we needed time to heal, in times of weeping, you drew close to us, when we experienced a loss perhaps of a dream, of an opportunity, of a relationship, you encouraged us to seek your mercy.

God, we pray for those who are having a rough time right now, we seek your mercy and your healing for our friends who are injured or sick, please come to them where they are, give then a sense of your presence.

Sometimes it’s easy to know what time it is, time to plant, time to build up, time to seek, time to speak, but other times might not be so clear.

We ask you to lead us God.  We need your wisdom and discernment, and we ask for your blessing on today and all of our tomorrows.  In Jesus name.  Amen.
