Ministries
The English word “minister” comes from the Latin (not the Greek) translation of various biblical words (Hebrew and Greek) that mean “to serve” (verb) or “servant” (noun). The most familiar passage using it is Matthew 20:28 “the Son of Man came not to be served (not to be ministered unto), but to serve (to minister)”.
We serve each other, our church community, and our local community in many ways. There are so many things that need to be done, and we've organized the various tasks into groups we call "ministries."
You get a great sense of belonging, and sometimes humility, when you serve others, and a great sense of caring when others serve you.
Here are some of the ministries we've defined at Brewster Baptist. You can find information on other ministries by clicking on the link in the box above.
You don't need to be a member of the church to participate in a ministry.
