HOLIDAY FAIR NOTES

THE SILENT AUCTION still needs those extra special gifts/donations to this important fundraising part of the Holiday Fair.  The more donations received, the more will be contributed to The Homeless Prevention Council. Please help by donating your creative projects—art work, handcrafts, unique family ‘heirlooms,’ culinary skills (hors d’oeuvres for a party of eight, or a gourmet dinner for six?), a sail in your boat, a foursome of golf, tickets to a Pats game, babysitting, lawn mowing…whatever your imagination and skill can conjure.  Please let us know how you can help.  Thanks!

TREAT YOURSELF to a day of shopping at the Holiday Fair, Saturday, November 6, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Rev up with coffee and a homemade muffin from the Coffee Shoppe, then pick up a map and chart a course to each of the 12 Shoppes that are loaded with great ideas to fill out your Christmas list.  Be sure to visit the Toy Shoppe—the soft and cuddly animals will get you in the holiday mood.  Stop by the Handcrafts Shoppe to find that perfect gift for the hard-to-please on your list.  Explore the variety of household items at the Attic Treasures Shoppe. Then check out the ready-made Gift Baskets, the permanent flower arrangements from the Flower Shoppe, the handmade Knitted Wear. Don’t know sizes?  Then head for the Book or Jewelry Shoppes. Something for everyone—something for you!  Maybe it’s time now to treat yourself to lunch in The Bistro for soups, salads, sandwiches and yummy desserts.  And speaking of food—don’t forget the Country Store, The Bake Shoppe, The Candy Shoppe and Sveden’s Dips & Spreads—all of them a source for great gift ideas for family, friends and neighbors—and for you, too.  See you at the Fair!

WE NEED BOOKS—the books you don’t need—to sell at the Fair Book Shoppe.  Books big and small, fiction, non-fiction, old or nearly new—will all be good as gold to the Holiday Fair Book Shoppe.  You can leave your donations in a bag or box in any church entryway on November 3 (not before that date, please).  Questions?  Contact Ted Foot.

NOTE:  WHILE WE APPRECIATE everyone’s enthusiasm in contributing to the Holiday Fair, there are some items that are being donated that can’t be sold.  Please do not contribute any item that is made of or contains any kind of fabric, such as clothes, linens, slipcovers, etc.   We are also receiving books, which we have no place to store.  PLEASE save them for the ‘bring-in’ date which is November 3.  If you are going to be away then, please find a friend who would be willing to hold your donations until we can accept them.  Thank you for your cooperation.

THE CARING CUPBOARD is a busy place, and all the donations we have received are appreciated.  Ongoing we are in need of puddings, muffin mixes, rice mixes, brownie mixes, Jell-O, baked beans, popcorn, and non-refrigerated canned hams.
