About Pastor Scalise
Pastor Rev. Dr. Douglas Scalise began his ministry at Brewster Baptist Church on October 1, 1995. Born in Boston and raised in Brookline, MA, Doug is the son and grandson of pastors. Doug graduated cum laude from
Colby College '86 in Waterville, Maine and
Boston University School of Theology '89 (Master of Divinity). He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in Preaching from
Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1999.
Doug and his wife Jill met at Colby and they have two sons, Nathan and Greg. Doug's primary ministry interests are preaching, leadership, equipping people for ministry, spirituality, and church growth. Doug also enjoys baseball, movies and good jokes. He is a life-long Boston Red Sox fan.
About Pastor Kevin Saxton
Pastor Rev. Kevin Saxton began his ministry at Brewster Baptist Church on
September 1, 2000. Born in Erie, PA and raised in West Springfield, PA, Kevin graduated cum laude from
Greenville College '95 in Greenville, Illinois and
Asbury Theological Seminary '00 (Master of Divinity).
Kevin and his wife Allison were married in January of 2000. They have a daughter, Jessamine, and a son, Brennan. Kevin's primary ministry interests are working with students, developing leaders, discipleship, and using technology in ministry. Kevin also enjoys football, basketball, movies, reading, and Ultimate Frisbee. He is a life-long Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
About Pastor Mary Scheer
Pastor Rev. Mary Scheer joined Brewster Baptist on September 1,2002. Born in Chicago and raised mostly in Villa Park, IL a suburb of Chicago, Mary earned her M. Div. in Pastoral Care and Counseling from
Northern Baptist Theological Seminary and came to Cape Cod from First Baptist Church in Marengo, Illinois. Her vision for ministry is "to help people grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, with an emphasis in Pastoral Care, including small group and family ministry programs."
Mary and her husband Dave have six children. Mary has a wide range of hobbies and interests, including cooking, reading, writing, walking, dancing, music, volley ball and martial arts, where she has a 2nd degree black belt in Hapkido, a 1st degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, a 1st degree black belt in Kobudo (which is weapons) and American Kick Boxing.
Mary is also a Chaplain in the U. S. Air Force, and is currently deployed in the Middle East.
